Patty earned a Bachelor of Music from Boise State University where she studied piano, organ, flute, and voice. She began volunteering in music ministry full-time in 1987 at Sacred Heart. In 1991 Patty was hired as choir director at St. John’s Cathedral where she worked for 18 years. During her years there she also served as a soloist and cantor, assistant to the Director of Music, music transcriptionist, and substitute pianist/organist. She also served as an interim Director of Music.
Patty joined the staff at St. Mary’s in 2009 as Director of Music for the English Speaking Sector of the parish.
Patty has also served on the Diocesan Liturgical Committee. She has been involved in music for various diocesan liturgies including the installation of Bishops Driscoll and Christiansen as well as the Ordination of Bishop Brown. She directed the choir for the funeral liturgy for Bishop Treinen. The music for the ordination of many men to the permanent deaconate, transitional deaconate, and priesthood has also been under her direction.
