If you are looking
for an outlet from the stresses of motherhood and would like the
opportunity to share with other Catholic Christian moms, please consider
joining the St. Mary’s Mothers group.
Who
are the St. Mary's Mothers?
They are a diverse
group of Catholic
Treasure
Valley
moms whose goal is to offer each other spiritual as well as motherhood
support through bi-weekly meetings during the September to May school
year. This group originally started in St. Mary’s Parish in fall
2001 as “Moms and Tots,” but has grown and changed each year depending
on the needs and interests of participants. For example, the
2006-2007 meeting year found participants discussing the book
Courageous Love: A Bible Study on
Holiness for Women by author Stacy
Mitch. Interested mothers
should know that while young children are always welcome to attend, the
group is not currently a “Mommy and Me” playgroup.
What
does St. Mary’s Mothers do?
Among other things,
attendees share life experiences and stories, socialize, and participate
in an Elizabethan-type ministry – this means members provide meals or
other assistance for families in the group who adopt or have babies.
Where
do St. Mary's Mothers meet?
St. Mary's Mothers
meet on bi-weekly Tuesdays from
9:30
to 11:00 a.m. (Please
click here to see current dates.) All gatherings are in the Parish
Center
basement at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Parish Center
is located at 2628 W. State
Street
in Boise,
and is the house next to the playground/parking lot.
